Sailbags Maui grew from the awareness that many of the colorful kite sails dotting Maui's famous Northshore ultimately end up in our islands' finite landfills. Constructed from tough durable nylon, these sails will take generations to breakdown and decompose.

At Sailbags Maui, our desire is for all worn, outdated and unusable kite sails to be able to "sail on" to a second life.

Maui designer Kristine Hoffman collects both lightly used and shredded beyond repair kite sails from the islands' Pacific shores. From here, the talented hands of highly skilled Haiku sewers transform each washed and cut kite into a light, durable and playful one of kind Sailbag that's ocean kissed - reminiscent of sunny and windswept days at the beach.

We hope that each Sailbag delights and inspires surf, fashion, and environment lovers alike.

Sail On!
